Won’t get fooled again
On September 17, 2002, G. W. Bush said
There’s an old saying in Tennessee — I know it’s in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can’t get fooled again.
He was probably quoting this great song by The Who (and title song for CSI:Miami):
I’ll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I’ll get on my knees and pray
We don’t get fooled again
Don’t get fooled again
No, no!
Apparently US Americans didn’t get fooled again and largely voted for Obama. Everybody knows how strong are my sympathies for him and I’m definitively happy to see him leading one of the most powerful country of the world.
I’m even happier if I consider that I attended his speech to Europe, here in Berlin, a couple of months ago.
I’m even happier that Sarah Palin won’t play any role in the future executive.
I’m still curious to see the Californian results about Prop 8…
Speaking of which, a couple of days ago I was reading TechCrunch (web finest source for web2.0 news) when I found a post by its maintainer, Micheal Arrington, about Prop 8 supporters advertisements on Google:
The ad links to protectmarriage.com (the good domain – yesonprop8.com – redirects to noonprop8.com, which must frustrate the gay-haters to no end).
As far as I’m concerned, we’ll look back on measures like Prop 8 as little different than attempts to stop Women’s Suffrage or the Civil Rights movement of the 50’s and 60’s. Denying a fundamental right to a person – such as marriage – is hateful and backwards. Google doesn’t have any obligation to run ads like these, and I believe they would be correct in banning it.
How true is this? There is no way someone will ever convince me that this topic is somehow controversial. Gays are like everyone else and they have to share the same rights. Period. Those who says the contrary are fundamentally evil.
But of course in countries like Italy, some politicians are still free to say that homosexuality leads to pedophilia… This is the case of Paola Binetti, a bitch. I can’t really stand her and her supporters!
A couple of weeks ago I had the chance to quickly speak with my little niece Linda about homosexuality:
Linda: Do you love Christian?
Me: Yes, I do.
Linda: Then, you’re gay…
Me: Well, yes. You’re a bit late, Linda, you even met Jens…
Linda: On my gosh!
Daniela (my sister): There’s nothing wrong in being gay, we’re all the same.
Linda: Are we all gay?
Beppe (my sister’s new bf): No, we’re not all gay but there’s no differences between homosexuals and heterosexuals. Do you see any difference between me and your uncle?
Linda: Yes, my uncle is overweight, you’re not

LOL!!!
ehm… sorry Pino, I was logged in as binariomorto, but I’m arry!
Don’t worry Arry, I always know who you are
Proposition 8 passed in California! Damn SoCal! (not by a big margin though … but still!)
About Linda. She’s right: you are overweight! Would you be not if straight?
Not all fat people are gay…they just have alot more to give that is all – can I have some gay too!?
@Luca (aka ilGrisa)
Mi hai rubato le parole di bocca: fuck SoCal!
Regarding being overweight and gay, I quote Almodóvar:
@Hadi
Of course not al fat people are gay. But I do sometimes believe that every gay man has a fat girlfriend
How true – and these girls usual have a pair of real hot red stilettos in their wardrobe hidden somewhere?! Hmmm I wonder why?
Giuseppe, guarda i risultati per contea in California e capisci. North Calif vorrebbe la secessione da SoCal ma alla fine è come se NYC si separasse da Upstate: dove troviamo poi tutti quegli elettori democratici?!
i wish i could meet linda! such a cute and clever girl!
