Amsterdam

with one comment

Yes, Amsterdam is also a song, the last track of the album A Rush of Blood to the Head by Coldplay. A very good song, by the way.

Come here, oh my star is fading
And I swerve out of control
And I swear I waited and waited
I’ve got to get out of this hole

My last weekend as official Amsterdam citizen is approaching but, obviously, I still don’t realize it :? My colleagues are wondering whether I planned something really big and crazy to celebrate but… what am I exactly supposed to do? My colleague Sheila even asked

- Pino, are you in love?
- Mmm… Yes
- With whom?
- With you, obviously ;)
- I love you too, but… Are you in love with someone in Berlin and you’re moving for him?
- No, Sheila, not this time… definitively not this time

April is also approaching and spring and… The new episodes of my favorite TV shows. More or less. Grey’s Anatomy is supposed to come back at the end of next month, Reaper has been aired yesterday, The Big Bang Theory (I’m always up to a laugh) next Monday. Not really the best case scenario, but better than nothing. On the other hand I had the chance to watch some different shows. Two weeks ago, as you know, I started with Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, while last week (and yesterday I watched two more episodes) I gave a try to New Amsterdam. With a name like that, I had to watch it. Unfortunately it’s not really special: it’s just a criminal series with some romance. The main character, John Amsterdam, was a Dutch soldier in 1642 who became immortal when he saved the life of a Native American girl. Nowadays he’s a homicide detective and still looking for his true love who would break the spell and make him grow old and eventually die. Definitively for New York City lovers, especially the pilot featured by a nice fast forward animation of Times Square from year 1642 to 2007.

Update
The pilot can be downloaded for free from iTunes.
