Superman

The weekend is almost over (it will officially be in 10 min.) and I almost didn’t blog a single word. You already know: I’m not really into blogging during the weekend when I’m either relaxing or up to something onerous.

Last Wednesday I met Erik right after work and we ate together at Wagamama: I ordered for the first time a noodle soup which was delicious, yes, but quite difficult to be eaten  I even had to help me with a fork… Wrong, utterly wrong :?
After the delicious dessert (a white chocolate-ginger cheesecake) we went to see the movie The Other Boleyn Girl, starring my two favorite young actresses: Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson. Their performance was very good as usual, but the movie failed to reach the quality of Closer or Lost in Translation in which I loved them the most. I wasn’t obviously expecting a masterpiece, but even if the movie was quite interesting, I really didn’t get the point, beside the fact that Henry VIII was continuously horny  Btw, although he’s not as bearish as his character was supposed to be, Eric Bana was really woofy in this movie :P

The rest of the week passed by quite fast and without any particular exciting moments until Friday evening when Krijn had the wonderful idea to take me for a delicious dinner all the way to Leeuwarden, a town in Friesland, in the northern part of the Netherlands. When I was already thinking that my Discover the Netherlands project was going to be abandoned, I had the chance to see a couple of Dutch sightseeings more.
On the way we stopped on the Afsluitdijk, a 32 km long dike between the North Sea and the IJsselmeer lake: an engineering masterpiece. Although it was too dark to see either the sea or the lake, we had a clear view of the sky: with no artificial light sources close by I enjoyed the most spectacular view of the milky way (our galaxy, not the snack  ) I had in the last 5 years.
Leeuwarden is one of the several sweet Dutch towns: not to miss is the Oldehove a giant leaning tower. However, if you want to enjoy a dinner you have to be there as early as possible: already at 9pm we had troubles in finding an open restaurant 8O Krijn explained that except in Amsterdam all the kitchen close at 9.30pm :?

[I wanted to comment yesterday, but while I was writing the fire alarm went off ... fire drill is such an annoyance, but it was as good an excuse as any to go home!]

If you’re not able to eat noodle with chopsticks, don’t even dare to show up!
