On Saturday morning I woke up quite early to Bree-clean my flat, as usual, but in a more efficient way: I didn’t want to spend too much time for that because I really needed a relaxing weekend after the awful and busy working week I had. IlGrisa kindly ordered me to buy the Lonely Planet guide to Banff, Jasper and Glacier parks and I wanted to buy a gift for Jörg’s birthday, which is why I went to the city center for a bit of shopping in the afternoon. I met Erik at Koningsplein and we went first to the bookshop Selexys where he bought his new Italian language textbook and I got my parks guide. Later we walked to the Apple Store on Raadhuistraat which was full of enthusiastic people buying all sort of iPods (their bank account wasn’t probably as happy
). I wanted then to have a tea in my favorite cafe, Singel 404, but it was too crowded and we didn’t find any place to sit… this is how we went back to the base: Koningsplein
Erik found his brand new nice pair of shoes before we went to the top floor cafe of a small department store on Leidsestraat: the view over the city was stunning there although the service may have been a bit too slow. We also had the chance to see, at the table next to us, the diva Elton John always wanted but never managed to be
He was like a bad Naomi Campbell copy, with few masculine features and the ugliest sunglasses I’ve ever seen… I just hope I’m going to forget him as soon as possible
When we left the cafe I shortly visited the American Bookstore where I saw some leaflets about the Super Tuesday, which is just over… Eventually I had a really nice Saturday: relaxing without being lazy, enjoying the beauty of Amsterdam and having fun with a good friend. I’m looking forward to more weekends like that…

It looks like quite a tie and the next states may be fundamental on the ballot for the Democratic candidate. About the Republicans: McCain is not that bad, it could have been either Romney or Huckabee, both a disaster for US.
