Pino sent me an email with that precise subject asking me to post a short post. Apparently work is driving him nuts now, for he said have to finish wrapping up projects and work-related stuff before being freed to leave for Amsterdam.

He’ll be in Amsterdam for the next few day. Vacation, the lucky bastard! So he’ll visit his friends Erik and Jörg - sorry but my English keyboard doesn’t have any accented letter - and go to Tori Amos’s concert! Everybody who knows him well knows how much passionate he can become for Tori and her concerts, especially after such a long hiatus.

In his email, he anticipated some of the topics he wants to talk about when he’ll get time for after being back in Berlin. They run from Japan and the anime Aquarion to the TV series Heroes and Desi bday party!

So it goes … we’ll wait in trepidante attesa.

Luca

p.s. The concert is in June and not this weekend … so why are you in Amsterdam?

Diktator of the free world

Yesterday was April, 25, Festa della Liberazione (Freedom Day) in Italy, to celebrate the day in 1945 when finally Italy was free from the nazi occupation and the fascist Repubblica di Salò came to an end.
Berlusconi recently stated in an interview:

Non partecipo a feste in cui la realtà storica viene stravolta e utilizzata da una parte contro l’altra

More or less, for him this celebration upsets the history and is being used by a party against another, which is why he doesn’t participate.
Silvio, the Festa della Liberazione is the celebration of the people who recognized and recognize that the fascism was and is wrong, which is why you don’t participate. I’m sure you enjoyed anyway this day off, maybe with your harem, maybe with the fascism-nostalgic allies of yours.

The L-word

I think I’m becoming lesbian. I always liked a colleague of me, Lenka, who is one of the nicest girl I ever met, but in the last weeks I’m appreciating even other girls: do I have to worry?
Yesterday, for instance, I met Carmen from a Spanish media agency and, wow, she was hot!
Later, I went to lunch with Isabelle and the policewoman we saw on the street was so sensually looking at me that I could have raped her outright ;)
Quoting Sylar:

Interesting, I can’t wait to try that one

To all my gay readers, here a video from the Bulgarian singer Азис

I don’t like the drugs… but the drugs like me

I’m addicted. I admit it.

Since a marketing campaign of Mr. Wasabi reached our desks with an endless assortment of dried peas with wasabi, I can’t stop eating them. And I don’t even like the wasabi! They’re just addictive. I want mooore!

Yesterday, btw, I went to Lina Krokant to buy some ice cream: wow, so delicious! Especially the chocolate-strawberry-chili flavour. Mmm… Bitter, sweet and hot at the same time. They just use their best chocolates to produce delicious chocolate flavoured ice cream. If you’re in Charlottenburg, stop by!

I can’t wait to go home this evening, because the brand new Heroes‘ episode is waiting for me. I barely avoid reading the spoiler on wikipedia… HELP!

Personality crisis

Posted in Life by Pino on April 23rd, 2007

My name is Bonetti, Pino Bonetti.
Tired by the continuous mistakes people make with my name, Giuseppe (which usually became Guiseppe, but also Guisepi, Giseppe and Guissepe), I decided to change it also at work. Now I’m officially Pino. Short, painless, friendly and funny.

Pino? Like the pine tree?

I’m so corporate oriented that I also have pino as nickname for my email address (for the external partners who couldn’t write giuseppe.bonetti). So cool ;-)

Selfportrait of a princessIsabelle was too hungover to get out of the bed :-) Which is why I decided to make my usual Sunday tour around Berlin.
I started at the Hauptbahnhof (there was a dinosaur’s skeleton in the main hall, quite impressive) then I walked through the city center, parks and typical touristic spots.
It was a nice (and long) walk: the temperatures are slowly increasing again, people are sunbathing all around the city (mainly naked) and the daylight is lasting so long ;)

Buena vista social club

This post was supposed to be in Italian language (and posted a couple of days ago, but I was somehow lazy): in the last two days I didn’t really feel like blogging in English. This usually happens when I’m pissed off, depressive or simply not in the mood, but this time was not because any of these reasons: I simply needed a break in the language mess I have in my mind (two days ago even JF wrote me an email, rising the confusion). Eventually I decided to take a deep breath and write this post in English (sort of).

Actually, I feel very good in the last time: my toothache went finally away, at work I have a lot to do but I like it (I never enjoyed so much being at Jamba) and I’m trying to have even more social life with my colleagues (who are my best friends in Berlin).
Friday we went alltogether for lunch to QBA II, a, guess what, Cuban restaurant: we spent there almost two hours :D . It was somewhat a Southern Europe lunch break with special guest, Nabil. Unfortunately the food, while abundant, wasn’t that good: the burrito, for instance, is far more delicious at Dolores.
Although Jamba is already complaining because I’m probably too friendly and not professional with my employees, I decided to go out with them more often. First planned event is a trip to my second favorite German city: Hamburg ;) Actually now I’m waiting for Isabelle to go to the flea market, but she’s late and it doesn’t surprise me.

Last week I also had the chance to listen the whole preview of Tori’s new album: as I supposed, 23 tracks are too much, there’s no way to have the whole record under control. What was again that nice song I listened? I don’t find it anymore… I hate this kind of questions. American Doll Posse bears anyway some good stuff, like Big Wheel, Bouncing off Clouds, Secret Spell and Dark Side of the Sun. Unfortunately Tori is far away from her masterpieces From the Choirgirl Hotel or To Venus and Back.

Luckily, on Monday, Heroes will be back, because the other series I’m irregularly watching (DS9, Doctor Who and Painkiller Jane) are just palliatives. I’m really excited!
Desperate Housewives, on the other hand, is becoming quite tedious with the absence of Bree and the lack of a big intrigue that permeates Wisteria Lane (the new one is simply ridiculous: it looks like a final season sale).

Eventually I would like to share with you this great piece by Margater Cho:

Binnenstebuiten

I just had my first Dutch class: the shortest 2 hours of my life ;)
The teacher, a rather old woman, is really nice and friendly and she tells a lot about the Netherlands, the Dutchmen and their role in the Berlin history. The lesson is then really interesting and funny.
The first question the teacher asked was obviously

Why would you like to learn Dutch?

Followed by the unexpected

Instead of, for instance, the much nicer Italian?

Good question ;)
Well, a lot of people is probably planning to invade the Netherlands, while others find Dutch just very queer and funny.

Skin

Posted in Blog by Pino on April 17th, 2007

You might have noticed that my blog has a new skin.
I’m currently considering to switch to a new theme, from K2 to Cutline or maybe Mistylook. In the meanwhile I got rid of my ugly face in the header and put a much more friendly flower theme, which fits better to the current season. I would like to thank my colleague and friend Eva, who realized it for me, you can see her portfolio on her webpage.
