In bianco e nero

without comments

The movie-weekend continues…
I just watched the movie L’Ultimo Bacio by Gabriele Muccino and I was wondering whether all his movies have the same subject. People with their relationship’s problems, cheating, breakdowns, children, teens, and… and hysterical screams. I guess it’s an Italian trademark ;) My parents used to scream every evening because of business issues: for me it was just everyday life which I simply forgot when I relocated to Berlin.
In the movie also played Carmen Consoli (I didn’t recognize her) who sings the movie’s main theme named after the movie. I don’t like her records so much, but the song In Bianco e Nero is quite good because of the lyrics

E pensare a quante volte
l’ho sentita lontana
E pensare a quante volte…
Le avrei voluto parlare di me
chiederle almeno il perché
dei lunghi ed ostili silenzi
e di quella arbitraria indolenza
puntualmente mi dimostravo inflessibile
inaccessibile e fiera
intimamente agguerrita temendo
l’innata rivalità

Bittersweet symphony

without comments

Last week I was so busy at work that this is the only thing I could talk about: yesterday I, more or less, didn’t have even the time to sit down at my desk after having visited the dentist.
Btw, I love to go to my sweet dentist. This time I discovered that he actually lived until last year in front of me. Perfect timing I would say ;) . Well, now he has a girlfriend (or wife?) and a daughter. Too pity: nice guys are always straight (at least before 3 beers).
His bureau is on Ku’damm and I spent more time traveling there than letting my (sooo small) holes being filled, but I had the possibility to see the city-west waking up: my favorite cafe, Aedes, was placing tables outside, some shops were opening, others undergoing renovations… And the weather was so fucking nice I could only be gay.
A couple of days ago I also discovered Mika, after having received a huge amount of requests to promote his ringtones. Maybe you noticed his lyrics in my last post ;) . Anyway… His album might not be a revelation but it’s so joyful and fits exactly to my actual mood.
Back in the office I had a meeting with my boss who finally absolved me to take care of Spain. I was so satisfied! I can now concentrate my efforts to improve the business in Italy: I have a lot of ideas, lot of services to launch (if they’re not censored, like the sms-chat) and a great team that helps me.
At evening, while I didn’t have a new Grey’s Anatomy episode, I watched the movie Дневной дозор (Day Watch) followed by Dario Argento’s Suspiria.

Sunday morning

without comments

Since we switched to the daylight saving time, instead of feeling tired in the morning, I wake up even earlier, which is why I’m working already since one hour. Well, working…
Later I have to go to the dentist because of a couple of small holes which don’t actually hurt, but, you know how dentists are ;) .
Yesterday my day at work was stressful, as usual, but this time also funny, somehow: I had to help my (quite new) colleagues with some business cases. They’re really nice people and we played with big amounts of money like they were peanuts :D . It was also nice to see how many people here depend on my decisions and suggestions… Yes, I’m a control freak.

I could be brown
I could be blue
I could be violet sky
I could be hurtful
I could be purple
I could be anything you like
Gotta be green
Gotta be mean
Gotta be everything more
Why don’t you like me?
Why don’t you like me?
Why don’t you walk out the door!

Я сошла с ума

without comments

Today I was finally at the Russian embassy asking for my visa: my boss wasn’t in the office and I could disappear for a couple of hours in the morning.
It was my second time there (the first being in December 2005) but today was even crazier because I had to wait long time just to get inside. A lot of Russians were standing at the door, with their unmistakable bad breath of onions, garlic and vodka :???: . Anyway… oh che cazzo, I don’t feel like blogging today.

De rerum natura

without comments

Humana ante oculos foede cum vita iaceret
In terris oppressa gravi sub religione,
Quae caput a caeli regionibus ostendebat
Horribili super aspectu mortalibus instans,
Primum Graius homo mortalis tollere contra
Est oculos ausus primusque obsistere contra;
Quem neque fama deum nec fulmina nec minitanti
Murmure compressit caelum, sed eo magis acrem
Inritat animi virtutem, effringere ut arta
Naturae primus portarum claustra cupiret.
Ergo vivida vis animi pervicit et extra
Processit longe flammantia moenia mundi
Atque omne immensum peragravit mente animoque,
Unde refert nobis victor quid possit oriri,
Quid nequeat, finita potestas denique cuique
Qua nam sit ratione atque alte terminus haerens.
Quare religio pedibus subiecta vicissim
Opteritur, nos exaequat victoria caelo.
